Blood-red Dead Redemption 2 was the first time playing a Rockstar game where my reaction went past interest to investment. I cared almost what happened to these people, I cared well-nigh their stories and their lives, and there were moments where I was genuinely saddened or excited by what happened to them. And as the story winds toward its various conclusions, I was completely invested in them, hoping for the all-time, and fearing the worst. For someone in that location for the story, who wanted a game to feel fun more than they wanted information technology to feel comprehensive, I was completely absorbed.

Red Dead Redemption 2'south missteps are few. The autosaving arrangement is a little scrap cruel, leading you to replay failed missions not from a pivotal betoken, but oftentimes from the very commencement of the mission or the section; the game should accept taken cues from Ubisoft'due south Far Weep and implemented far more friendly checkpoint saves. And while horseback riding in this game is largely fantastic, it'south odd to spend so much fourth dimension tapping a button merely to create your horse's pace. This is intuitive -- but it feels unnecessary at times, likewise. The unabridged Ruby Dead experience, though, feels fantastic overall.
