Can U Bring Food Into Busch Gardens

Oh, as a mom, trust me. I get it. I get that snacks are needed. I get that toys are needed. I get that diapers and wipes and an extra change of clothes are all needed. I get that so much.

We live in beautiful Tampa Bay, with a short ride to any number of fun activities for children, including theme parks, museums, aquariums and more. When it comes to those things we need, it's frequently easier (and definitely cheaper!) to pack them ourselves instead of hope where we are going has something that'll accommodate everyone in the group. If your child has a certain snack preference or you need to fuel up on some much needed coffee on the way, not relying on the theme park/museum/etc to have what you need is fantastic!

If you're anything like me, you don't think to check the rules of any place you are going to see what you may bring in and what restrictions, if any, they may have. You simply pack what you need and go (because the sooner you can get out the door, the better, right?) It's only when you get to your outing that you realize you can't bring something in, or the pack you have for what you can bring in is too big.

So, I'm here to break it all down for you. Here is my easy mom's guide to theme park rules.

Disney World
Disney World is like a mecca for moms because you can literally bring almost anything into this park. The prices for Disney tickets are pretty high up there as it is, and dining can put a lot of families over their budget. So, packing food and drinks for the family is great!

What you may not bring into Disney World parks:

Strollers larger than 36" x 52"

Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high

Glass containers (excluding baby food jars)

Balloons and straws are not permitted in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park

Busch Gardens
Unfortunately, coolers, glass containers, flavored drinks and food such as sandwiches, meals, etc., may not be taken into the park. But, you can bring water bottles!

I'm not telling you to break the rules here, but for my two year old, I've packed a sandwich and some snacks and security has never given me a hard time. Be a rebel at your own discretion.

Florida Aquarium
Similar to Busch Gardens, The Florida Aquarium prohibits outside food, with the exception of any food needed for medical purposes, food allergies, or for infants. Also like Busch Gardens, you can bring one water bottle per guest.

ZooTampa at Lowry Park

ZooTampa is a little more lenient — you may bring in one bottled water per guest (this seems to be standard), but then they also allow:

Small snacks for young children

Baby food/baby formula (to be fair, I'm sure the other parks wouldn't make you get rid of food for your baby!)

Soft-sided insulated bags no larger than 8.5" wide x 6" deep

Keep in mind that prepared or packaged food or meals is prohibited, but snacks are acceptable. So maybe leave the sandwich at home, and instead pack raisins. Also remember that straws are not allowed. I've been able to bring in the Starbucks I purchased on the way to the zoo, but had to throw out the straw when I got to the security line.

LEGOLAND

Good news! You are able to bring outside coolers, food and beverages into the park, as long as it doesn't not include meals/snacks needed to be heated or refrigerated, and as long as the coolers/bags to not exceed 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep.

Armed with this information, hopefully you can pack smarter and avoid the stare-down at area attractions. Where do you plan on taking your kids next?
